As the summer months dwindle and the opportunity to partake in martial activities decreases, we look ahead to the winter months and turn our attention to the crafts of Arts and Sciences. Glen Rathlin is proud to announce that it will be holding the eleventh Yuletide University XI from 25th to 27th of November at Crawfordsburn Scout Camp, 20 Bridge Row South, Helen’s Bay, Co Down, BT19 1JT. This year we will be focussing on Garb Making, with classes ranging from beginner to advanced, accessories to armour. Everything you need to make your Garb look good. In between classes we will be well fed by Lady Jacqueline Pierpont, whose meals and feasts are legendary within our shire and beyond. Please let the Event Steward know of any special dietary requirements and we will try to accommodate them. The site fee for the weekend, including food and a bunk is only £35. Bunks are limited to 46, so it will be strictly first come, first served. Payment secures your bunk, please make cheques payable to “SCA Northern Ireland”, or contact the Event Steward for other payment options. Day and Child rates are also available from the Event Steward. Site opens at 7pm on Friday and closes at 2pm on Sunday and is discreetly wet.
